Woolly Wonders in Year 2

Year 2 students have been busy, and their imaginations are buzzing! As part of their Design and Technology unit, they explored how sheep are raised in Australia for their wool. After learning about the wool production process, they researched various woollen craft ideas and practised finger knitting. Their creative projects included butterflies, scarves, cowls, bunny rabbits, flowers, Christmas decorations, and even minions. One talented student, Jind (pictured), knitted a beanie—an impressive effort that required her to learn how to decrease each row of stitches. It’s been a wonderful way for students to build fine motor skills, patience, and creativity!
