Positive Behaviour 4 Life (PB4L) Secondary Assembly

Term 2 has been a vibrant and rewarding season for our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) program. Our students and staff have continued to demonstrate what it means to live out our school values, with a remarkable 2,002 student commendations and 324 staff commendations awarded throughout the term. A total of 20 PB Challenges were completed, reflecting growing student engagement and initiative.

Our House Spirit Awards recognised students who embodied their house values with distinction. Congratulations to May (Year 11) from Barnett and Tanaka (Year 9) from Corliss for leading the way in school spirit and positive contributions to their communities.

A huge shout-out goes to Barnett 2, our Homeroom of the Term, who secured first place with an impressive total of 452 points – made up of 322 individual commendations, 50 points from PB Challenges, and 80 commendations through homeroom-based challenges. Year 9 came in second place with 356 points, and Corliss 4 claimed third place with a strong 263-point effort.

We also congratulate Mr Arora, who was named Staff Member of the Term after receiving an outstanding 72 staff commendations in Term 2. Our PB4L levelling system saw Johan, Prabhav and Manuka all level up to Bronze status this term – well done!

Commendations are awarded for consistently demonstrating our school values. This includes things like wearing the correct uniform, being punctual, showing leadership, participating in class and co-curricular activities, putting in effort on assessments, and supporting peers and teachers. Completing our termly PB Challenge is a great way to fast-track your progress, with each challenge earning you 10 points — that’s 40 commendation points across the year.

You can also earn commendations by getting involved in SSV sport, community service, or any activity where you’re proudly representing the College. Don’t forget — you can always ask your teachers what they’re looking for in class if you're aiming to level up!

We’re proud of the culture being built here at MHCC through PB4L — keep it up, everyone!
