Happy Last Day of Term 3!
Today was a HUGE day of giving at Mernda Hills. Students dressed in footy colours to celebrate the upcoming AFL / NRL Grand Finals. We asked families to also donate a non-perishable food or household item today and were blown away by the generosity! Together, our school community has donated a total of 596 grocery items for people in need through our Footy Colours Day Donation Drive.
Our original goal was to collect 500 non-perishable food and household items. Thanks to your generosity, we didn’t just meet that goal, we smashed it!
These items will be donated to the ADRA Food Pantry, a vital service that supports individuals and families experiencing hardship. ADRA Australia operates a wide range of community programs across the country, from counselling to food pantries and emergency relief. Their mission is to walk alongside people in vulnerable situations, offering care and practical assistance to those who might otherwise slip through the cracks.
Through your generous contributions, our Mernda Hills community has played a direct role in helping ADRA continue its mission of providing dignity, hope, and support to families doing it tough.
A heartfelt thank you to every student and family who participated. Your kindness reminds us all of the power of community and the importance of living out our values in practical ways.
