Mernda Hills Christian College is thrilled to announce the approval for the construction of a new Multi-Purpose Centre (MPC), set to significantly enhance the school's facilities and co-curricular offerings. The MPC will be developed in two stages: Stage 1 will include a large gymnasium equipped for various sports, a canteen and an assembly area, while Stage 2 will feature a performance stage and additional classroom spaces.
Stage 1 of the MPC is scheduled to open for Term 1 2026, providing students with access to the gymnasium, kitchen, canteen eatery, and assembly area. Stage 2, which will include the performance stage and additional co-curricular learning spaces, is planned for completion in 2027.
This exciting announcement follows the recent news about our new Early Learning Centre, also set to open in 2026. Together, these developments mark a period of significant growth and transformation for Mernda Hills Christian College, bringing exciting new opportunities and facilities to our community.
The college extends its heartfelt thanks to the State Government for their generous contribution of $3.6 million towards this project. Special thanks go to Ben Carroll, Deputy Premier of Victoria and Minister for Education, who confirmed the funding, and to Lauren Kathage MP for her support and presence at today’s assembly announcement.
The new MPC underscores Mernda Hills Christian College’s commitment to delivering holistic, Christ-centred education and offering exceptional educational opportunities to its students. The school community eagerly anticipates the benefits this facility will bring, particularly in enhancing its sports programs and providing additional co-curricular options.
Stay tuned for more updates as the project progresses!
