Seventh-day Adventist Schools (Victoria) Ltd is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary HPE Teacher (including the ability to teach VCE) to join the Secondary Team at Mernda Hills Christian College. The role also presents an opportunity to contribute to student wellbeing through the position of Secondary House Coordinator. Commencing in Term 3, 2026, this Full-Time position incorporates both teaching and leadership responsibilities across Year 7-12 Health and Physical Education, with a strong focus on fostering student engagement, well-being, and the continued development and success of the College's House program.

About the role
The House Coordinator at Mernda Hills Christian College ensures the success of the house program, leading and facilitating initiatives that build the College's house culture from Years 7-12. The role involves managing and providing guidance to House Mentors, coordinating the Flourish homeroom program, facilitating house events (excluding major sports carnivals), supporting positive student behaviours using the College's PB4L and Restorative Practice frameworks, and working with the Wellbeing, Chaplaincy and Learning Support teams to support learning and wellbeing.

  • Can support and actively promote, and not undermine, the Christian-based values and ethos of the College based on the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
  • Have the capacity to teach the Australian curriculum in the context of the College's Christian-based ethos
  • Can plan for and lead daily Christian-based class devotions to students

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and prior experience in a similar leadership role.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective organisational and project management capabilities.

The salary range is $83-124k based on years of experience.
